Study Design

Investigational study that included a total of 33 patients that were given both rilpivirine and telaprevir as well as etravirine and telaprevir.

Study Results

Rilpivirine concentrations were higher with telaprevir coadministration than without. Cmin for rilpivirne was 1.93 times greater, Cmax was incresed 1.49 fold and 24 hour AUC was increased by 1.79 fold in the presence of telaprevir. Telaprevir concentrations decreased with coadministration with rilpivirine. The Cmin decreased 11%, Cmax 3%, and AUC 8 hr decreased 5%. These interactions were determined to not be clinically significant, however close monitoring for telaprevir efficacy and rilpivirine toxicity is recommended.
