Study Design

Pharmacokinetic study described interaction potential between An extended release formulation of stavudine and tenofovir DF. This study took place in healthy adults

Study Results

The pharmacokinetics of stavudine and tenofovir were not affected by coadministration. Mean stavudine and tenofovir Cmax and AUC values were nearly identical to values obtained when the drugs were given alone.

Study Conclusions

These results could also be applicable to the immediate release formulation of stavudine, as the pharmacokinetics of these two formulations have been found by the manufacturer to be comparable.
