Study Design

This combination has not been studied, but inferences can be made drawing from the interaction studies of other boosted protease inhibitors and telaprevir and based upon the metabolic pathway of these agents.

Study Results

Administration of telaprevir with certain ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitors including darunavir, atazanavir, lopinavir and fosamprenavir, resulted in reduced exposure of telaprevir with variable effects on the protease inhibitors.1

Study Conclusions

Co-administration of telaprevir with tipranavir has not been formally studied, however, the manufacturer of tipranavir recommends against co-administration of these agents
