Interaction potential is based on knowledge of pharmacokinetic pathways

Study Conclusions

The magnitude of the potential interaction between maraviroc and grapefruit juice is difficult to predict as the effect of grapefruit juice is concentration, dose and preparation dependent and varies widely across brands, but as grapefruit juice inhibits intestinal CYP3A4 and maraviroc has a moderate intestinal extraction, the interaction is likely to be modest.
