Study Design

The reference is a review article and describes the metabolic pathways of these agents. No research directly studying this interaction has been described, but because dapsone is often used as prophylaxis for various opportunistic infections seen in patients with AIDS, the clinical significance of any possible interaction is expected to be minimal.

Study Results

No results from direct interaction studies have been described. These drugs have been used clinically without recognition of a clinically significant interaction.

Study Conclusions

No drug interactions are expected with co-administration of Dapsone and DLV or EFV based on the drugs metabolism. No signification drug interaction is expected with the co-administration of Dapsone and nevirapine base on studies using human liver microsomes.
