Summary

A single dose of gemfibrozil (GEM) 600mg was administered to healthy subjects both before and after a two-week course of lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r) 400/100 twice daily. Co-administration resulted in a decrease of GEM AUC and Cmax, by 41% and 33% respectively. This reduction may have been due to the affect of LPV/r on transport proteins, which may have lowered GEM intestinal absorption.[156]
